ARTIST STATEMENT
Ceramics, like all forms of art, is a journey without a fixed destination. Each piece that she creates is a step on a path defined by curiosity, change and growth, not by consistency or confinement to a single aesthetic.
As an artist she delves into the depths of oceanography, drawing inspiration from the vast expanse of the seas and its intricate ecosystems.
Through the work, she is trying to explore the profound connection between the ocean and the human experience, reflecting on themes of acceptance and mourning.
The Ocean, with its ever changing tides and currents, serves as a metaphor for the ebb and flow of life’s emotions. Just as the ocean embraces both calm and stormy waters, she is trying to embrace the complexities of grief and loss, seeking solace in the rhythm of nature’s
cycles.
Her work is a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit, as well as a meditation on the acceptance of life’s inevitable transitions.
Through layers of texture and colour, she invites the viewer to immerse themselves in a journey of introspection and healing.
Ultimately the work celebrates the transformative power of acceptance, offering a beacon of hope amidst the turbulent seas of grief. By embracing the ocean’s timeless wisdom; seeking to inspire others to find peace in the embrace of mourning, and to navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience.
